Broderson Awards Honor Design of Jetboil POP, Package and Catalog

Pica Design, a graphic design company located in Belfast, won the highest Award for the Integrated Marketing Campaign category at an awards ceremony Thursday evening, November 1st at the Marriott Sable Oaks in South Portland. The award was given to commend the design of the Jetboil POP, Package and Catalog, a series of designs highlighting Jetboil’s innovative engineering and cutting edge outdoor products. Pica Design was selected by Jetboil in 2005 to create and manage the rebranding of their award-winning line of outdoor gear.
The Broderson Awards honor creative excellence in Maine advertising and graphic design, and encourage higher creative standards. Judges are selected from around the U.S. and Canada by the Broderson Awards committee. For more information about the awards, please visit www.brodersons.com.
Pica Helps to Bring The BoNE Show to Portland, Maine, Spring 2006
Saturday, June 17th, 2006For the first time in its 10-year history, AIGA Boston’s BoNE (Best of New England) Design Show toured New England. Representing all six New England states, the bi-annual event recognized the best in successful visual communication in our region. The Portland installation of the BoNE Show was held at the Portland, Maine City Hall Rotunda for two weeks, June 5 — 16, with a closing reception on Thursday, June 15th. New Client—Jetboil, Inc..—Joins Pica Roster
Saturday, January 21st, 2006Jetboil, Inc., of Guild, New Hampshire, engaged Pica Design to design packaging for a holiday coffee bundle, the Jetboil Java Kit, in retail stores nationwide for the 2005 holiday season. We also worked with Jetboil to develop new packaging for their Group Cooking System, and a point of purchase endcap display for Jetboil product inventory. The Jetboil combines the power of a 21st century portable stove with the simplicity of a travel mug. Named “Editor’s Choice” for 2004 by Backpacker Magazine and “Gear of the Year” by Outside Magazine, the product is available at more than 400 retailers nationwide. Rob Dietz of Pica Design Appointed to Board of AIGA Maine Chapter
Saturday, January 7th, 2006AIGA members living in Maine came together in the Fall of 2005 to petition the national organization to start a Maine Chapter. Rob Dietz was asked to participate on the board, as Communications Director. The first chapter events to take place were Monthly Movable Mixers (every third Thursday). These events are ongoing. Anyone who wants to learn more about AIGA Maine is invited. Mixers have been held at The Wine Bar, Domaine Gallery, Furniturea, The White Heart, and McCabe, Duval + Associates. Pica Design Wins New Account: Guyot Designs, Inc.
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2005Guyot Designs, of Half Moon Bay, California moved to Deer Isle and Josh Guyot and Sloan Russell (the folks who brought you the SplashGuard™ and the Gription™) met with us in September to discuss package design for two products to be launched in 2006. We were contracted to complete both packaging solutions, one for the Firefly (the wide-mouth bottle lid-with-lamp that turns your water bottle into a lantern) and the Bottles (the first stainless steel wide-mouth bottles on the market).
Pica Design Wins First Place Golden Arrow Award In Brochures Category
Tuesday, December 7th, 2004Rob Dietz was presented the award for design of the 2004 Belfast Area Chamber Guide at a ceremony on December 2 at the Daniel Stone Inn in Brunswick. The Golden Arrow Awards, a program of the Maine Public Relations Council established in 1990, honor excellence and provide a forum for exhibiting exemplary work and promoting public recognition of high-quality communications.
